Horizon Europe Cluster 5 — Destination 4 (Buildings energy performance)
About this call
Cluster 5 of Horizon Europe — Climate, Energy and Mobility — supports research and innovation on Europe's clean-energy and climate-neutrality transition. The 2026 work programme includes a Destination 4 (Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use) wave focused on the building stock. HORIZON-CL5-2026-09 opened 5 May 2026 and closes 15 September 2026, with two city-applicable topics on the energy performance of small buildings (D4-01, €15.75 million) and deep renovation of multi-storey buildings (D4-02, €28 million). Earlier in 2026, the broader Cluster 5 work programme also opened topics on city-mobility (CIVITAS, deep renovation, Positive Energy Districts) — most of those have closed (Jan / Feb 2026 deadlines). The next wave of city-mobility topics is expected Q3 2026 with deadlines in Q1 2027. Managed by CINEA.
